Reuniting in the Rock
There is something about getting together with all my best college friends that inspires WILDNESS. We live mostly around LR or NWA with a few who are a bit further away...but usually a shower or wedding is the time when we all get together to really catch up. Martha and Grant had a Stock The Bar in LR last weekend, and it was honestly one of the most fun nights I've had in ages. Maybe it was my total disregard for behavior or just the feeling I get when I'm around people who know me, and love me regardless.
We had a late girls lunch at US Pizza in LR, which generally lasts a few hours. We natually got the good gossip time in and updates on Brooke and Martha's wedding plans. Then we shopped around town and had a few glasses of wine at Laura and Jason's new house (LOVEEE IT). The shower was a great fun, and Martha got a lot of really cool loot- which of course I am very jealous of. I know I know..my time will come...
We ended the night out at The Fountain, which was packed with people I hadn't seen in years. I'm told sometime around 1:30 we left, and continued the after party back at Laura's house, eating every snack in site. I literally ate a whole box of wheat thins I'm pretty sure.
Can't wait until the shower in April! Thanks Allison and Andrew for letting me ride with ya'll on this adventure!! Thanks Laura and Jason for hosting us and making waffles!! Thanks Martha for getting married and giving us excuses to all get together!!

Say a little prayer for you

Just wanted to have ya'll add Matt to your daily prayer list. He is having surgery today on his esophagus. He has needed this operation for awhile, so hopefully all goes well and he has a quick recovery. Luckily his mom can be home to take care of him, so he is in the best capable hands!! (Though I may whip up a mean batch of chicken noodle soup for tomorrow)
An added bonus to this surgery would be if he can miraculously sing like a bird, and become the next Justin Timberlake. Small dream I know. I'll let you know how that pans out.

Lucky Irish
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
Do you know why the 4 leaf clover is considered lucky?
History of the four leaf clover:
The four leaf clover is a universally accepted symbol of good luck with its origin ages old. According to legend, Eve carried a four leaf clover from the Garden of Eden.
"The clovers also occupied a position in the cultural life of early peoples. White clover (T. repens L.) in particular was held in high esteem by the early Celts of Wales as a charm against evil spirits." Clover Science and Technology". N.L. Taylor, 1985.
Druids held the 4 leaf clover in high esteem and considered them a sign of luck. In 1620, Sir John Melton wrote: "If a man walking in the fields find any four-leaved grass, he shall in a small while after find some good thing.
The mystique of the four leaf clover continues today, since finding a real four leaf clover is still a rare occurrence and omen of good luck.
The 4 leaves stand for Faith, Hope, Love, and Luck!

Can I put Cameron back on the list if he promises not to eat?
"Um, I met somebody in Rome. Uh, he's an American - he's from LA, actually! And his name's Brian McKenzie, and he's just this wonderful, wonderful, amazing man. And well... we started seeing each other. A lot. And we fell in love...... it actually happened, and we've decided to get married- which means, that... I'm engaged. I'm engaged! I'm getting married!"
How many times have you watched Father of the Bride, 15? 20? More? It is still an all time favorite of mine, and if I catch it (even half way through) on TBS, I better just settle in and get ready to watch the whole thing.
Speaking of WEDDINGS! I can barely contain my excitement for this coming weekend. One of my bestest friends is getting "Mawwried" and her first celebration that I can go to is this weekend in Little Rock. Not only have I not seen the ring in person, but I haven't gotten to do the whole squeal jump up and down move, like I've been waiting for since they got engaged last Fall.

A little memory to kick off the weekend-
Though they didn't exactly date when I lived with Marth in college, Grant was quite the household name. I'd wake up to lake night chitter chatter without exactly recognizing who Martha was talking to...but there was always something in her voice, a level of excitement and love, that was always saved for the convos with Grant. All of the girls would lay around the 3rd floor thinking that we could surely plan out our lives, and always wished to be lucky in love- I think Martha knew that she already was lucky in love, and had a bigger test to go through- patience. I don't know why this one specific memory pops in my head right now, but G was dating a girl in Dallas (who might have owned golf courses or something impressive), and I could tell this was weighing on M's mind a lot, as they dated for quite awhile. One night the breakdown happens, and Martha starts in on "I can't compete with that, what do I have to offer....Woe is me". I might have laughed, I might have cried right along...but I know that at that moment I knew that it wasn't the shiny toys that held their love together, there was just something, call it fate, call it whatever you want...just something that made me think they were destined for each other. They just had to live all the days in between until it was the right time to reunite. The second M moved to Texas for law school, they were pretty much inseparable...and some 10 years after their first relationship began, they are finally celebrating the beginning of a lifetime of togetherness.
I think everyone can toast to that, and I surely will this weekend.
